Emilio Pucci founded his house in 1950 and became famous for bold printed silk jersey in the 1960s. Because the brand is still produced and licensed lines exist, the label, the "Emilio" signature in the print and the fabric all need to agree before a piece is called 1960s.

Company history

The Vintage Fashion Guild (VFG) and our designer label fakes guide agree that Pucci designed ski clothes for White Stag in 1948 and founded his house, Emilio of Capri, in 1950, later based in Florence. He designed fabrics for the swimwear house Rose Marie Reid in the late 1950s or early 1960s, and from 1960 designed lingerie and at-home wear in nylon tricot for Formfit Rogers. He designed Braniff airline uniforms (our 1960s hub gives 1965 to 1974) and began designing menswear for Ermenegildo Zegna in 1968. After his death in 1992 his daughter Laudomia ran the company, and outside designers led the collections from 2002.
